Maria Pergolino of Apttus Bolsters Multi-Purpose Strategies with EverString

In the world of B2B ecommerce, transactions can get complex and rely on many variables. The volume of products and services are much higher compared to B2C, shipping can get complicated and regulatory pain points tend to make things a bit more demanding.

And, since people across the digital commerce landscape are making more online purchases, it’s clear there’s value in quote-to-cash software like Apttus. Although there were challenges, the potential for a great working relationship between EverString and Maria Pergolino, Senior VP of Global Marketing and Sales at Apttus, was there from the get-go.

In fact, B2B ecommerce software as a whole will continue to grow as business tech tools continue to become a necessity across all industries. According to a 2015 Forrester research report, the overall B2B ecommerce market is projected to reach $1.1 trillion by 2019, showing the incredible potential that the Apttus software platform can bring to numerous companies.

Challenges

Apttus operates with an intelligent cloud technology that powers quote-to-cash solutions, contract management, ecommerce and revenue management. Needless to say, Apttus’ business needs are multifaceted, which is why Maria needed an end-to-end data analytics solution that could handle multiple functions. Since Apttus is also growing quickly, they needed a platform that could also give them flexibility as they continued to expand.

Maria looked at several competitors in the market, but eventually decided to take on a small project with EverString to test out its capabilities. It didn’t take long for Maria to move forward as a customer.

Why EverString?

Maria was originally drawn to EverString due to the successes she had seen from other customers in the field. However, it didn’t take her long to realize that she was entering into a partnership. She made several personal connections along the way with EverString, and also quickly saw that EverStringers were very proactive in getting her ramped up as she became more familiar with the platform.

Integration capabilities were a more practical reason why Maria chose EverString. Because the technology could easily align with their rest of their programs, namely Microsoft and Marketo, it didn’t take her team long to understand the platform and make it part of their day-to-day.

Marketing is also a very strategic process. Even with all of the power of AI, EverString’s platform doesn’t completely understand the psychology behind purchases. That doesn’t mean EverString didn’t end up becoming a big part of their long-term strategy. Due to the Audience Platform’s powerful metrics capabilities, Maria’s marketing team got the best possible data insights and removed repetitiveness in their marketing outreach efforts.

Maria was also impressed with the platforms list creation, account targeting and augmentation features, as it gave her team more time to focus on the creative, emotional side of marketing and less on research.

Apttus’ Growth and How EverString Plays a Role

Apttus has selected EverString as its predictive marketing platform every year, showing that AI is helping their marketing department become more relevant. The marketing team at Apttus is also looking to branch out into other regions as they continue to grow. This is where EverString’s territory planning tool is going to become pivotal, as it gives Apttus flexibility while looking for marketing prospects in new regions.

Apttus has also reached out to many Fortune 500 companies and gained valuable business relationships with some of the biggest names in the business, including Lenovo, Adobe, Aramark, LinkedIn and Salesforce. With the AI capabilities of EverString on their side, they can continue to thrive in this competitive market and still come up on top.
